Leather Cord Slip Knot for Necklaces

by admin on August 28, 2010

Stari Girl Jewelry makes it easy to learn jewelry making. This is simply two square knots. The trick is to tie the knot using only one piece of leather, with the other piece “sliding” through the bottom of the knot. Um… you kind of go quickly, and your fingers are big. It’s hard to see what happens

No disrespect, but your video is truly not helpful.
You move too quickly, your finger movements block the view, you’re using odd fingers to pull up loops of string and your dialogue seems internally driven and not focused on being as explanatory as possible for clarity.

This video was super duper simple and I got it on the first try without looking like I was weaving a magic spell like your hands were moving.

Great video, it might even be useful if you slowed down a little, I get the “snug it down” part, but this “right over left / left over right” is meaningless if you don’e tell us left from right. hahaa. just kidding. It took me a while but got it in the end, and i now have a necklace (with coral from the beach), using my shoe lace!.

@Datalore74 I think the tricky part is when :39 is cause that’s when he starts the second knot, and he pulls one of the strings down and does the second knot with that one, in order to make the knot the way it’s should be. If you focus on that section you might be able to understand a little better. I’ve watched it like 10 times I think :)
